Security Guard VS. BMXers

Last week, Tyler Rizzi uploaded a video of an altercation between him and the local mall cops.Since then, it has blown up all over the internet and even mainstream media has done stories on it. We are here to explain from the rider's side what happened, give our thoughts on it,  and make sure everybody knows all of the information on the situation.
Above is the first video that was released. Tyler sent this to TCU with a long explanation.
"The story behind this video is basically myself and 4 of my friends went into a mall to get food with our bikes and 2 security guards came up and told us we weren't allowed to have our bikes in the Mall. ( It was a holiday and there wasn’t hardly anyone in the mall ) So we said okay we will leave after we get our food that we had ordered ( Mr. Sub ). Then they started shoving me and my other friend telling us to leave when most of us hadn’t even got the food we ordered yet. So we left and ate outside near the mall. After we finished eating 2 of my friends and I go back into the mall security office and ask for there information and bosses contact info which they did not give very willingly. After we finally got the info we were all walking out and the shorter security guard was talking shit the whole time and kept lip saying stuff so my friends couldn’t hear him. As we were approaching the mall exit there was one guard behind me and one beside, the shorter officer that was beside shoved me for no reason at all. Then the video starts. As we got out the door he knew my friend was filming, the last lip thing he said to me was ” I’m going to kill you “. Thats when i lost it. The one guy turned to the other and said ” Put him down ” like i was some sort of fucking dog or something. When they got me on the ground i felt them legitimately trying to break my arm, they weren’t just putting my hand behind my back. luckily my friend who was around the corner got there in time to help me out. One officer proceeded to go after my friend and got him on the ground. The other officer then turned to him as well and started to knee him in the ribs while yelling “get on the ground” when he was already on the ground not resisting at all. Which is why I hit him."
The video seems to back most of this story up, but it makes it seem like Tyler started it since this does not show the first half of the confrontation. The very next day another video was uploaded showing them arguing in the food court and the guard repeatedly putting his hands on Tyler. I do not know the laws in Canada . where this happened, but in America you are not able to do that. However, him raising his fist is also considered a threat towards the security guards.

After the first video was released and recieved over 500,000 views on youtube and WorldStar the cops decided to get involved. They arrested two people involved in the fight believed to be Tyler and the friend that hit the guard with a shoe. This is what the local newspaper said about it,
"Hamilton police arrested two people Saturday in connection to what they characterized as an assault on mall security guards on Labour Day — a fracas apparently filmed by one of the young men involved and later posted online.
A 24-year-old Hunstville man faces an assault charge, and an 18-year-old Etobicoke man is charged with assault level two."
In America those charges would not stick, because of how limited the power of security guards is. Due to the different laws in Canada it's completely possible that Tyler might have to deal with probation or maybe even worse.

In my opinion they are both wrong. I am a very peaceful person and there are a hundred different ways to have handled that were everybody would have been happy. If Tyler had not mouthed off from the beginning then MAYBE the security guards would have been a little bit more relaxed and let him grab his food. At the same time the way that the guards handled this was wrong. It was obvious that the guard was not trying to make the arrest and was trying to just hurt him. Before anybody says "Oh they can't make an arrest they are just security guards." , that would be incorrect. In Canada and the United States the guards are able to make a citizens arrest to keep the person under control until they can be turned over to the police. Pretty much anybody can make a citizen's arrest. However, the guard was not trying to do that. I feel like they both could have handled it better and this whole situation would have been defused. Instead they fought and now the guards will probably lose their jobs and Tyler and his friend will have to deal with the courts. This is why anytime you come across security you should be respectful while still making your rights known.
